NASA Nebraska Space Grant

ELIGIBILITY

​

1. Workforce Development Projects are limited to U.S. Citizens. Graduate and undergraduate students are eligible to apply, as are full-time and part-time students. This funding is not intended for students who have not yet graduated high school.

2. Students must attend one of the institutions listed below during the entire timeframe of the workforce project:

• Chadron State College

• College of St. Mary

• Creighton University

• Hastings College

• Metropolitan Community College

• Nebraska Indian Community College

• University of Nebraska – Lincoln

• University of Nebraska at Omaha

• University of Nebraska at Kearney

• University of Nebraska Medical Center

• Western Nebraska Community College

NASA Nebraska Space Grant Workforce Development Project FY 2026

The goal of the NASA Nebraska Space Grant Workforce Development program is to recruit students to professional development activities that will connect them to NASA and aerospace-related work. These competitive awards are granted to undergraduate and graduate students with an interest in working for NASA or the aerospace-related industry.

Students must propose a workforce development activity for these awards. They are not traditional scholarships.

Some examples of workforce development activities include a job shadow experience; presenting research at a professional conference; attending a conference, workshop, or seminar where the student will obtain new skills or knowledge related to their future career; leading an aerospace-related competition team; etc.

These awards are not for internships; apply for the NASA Nebraska Space Grant Internship awards instead.  
These awards are not for conducting research; apply for the NASA Nebraska Space Grant Fellowships awards instead.  

We accept applications for the Workforce Development program on a rolling basis through the deadline noted on the application. However, apply as early as possible. When the funding is depleted, the application window will close until the next grant year begins.
